Electric Vehicle Charging
There is many ways an Electric Vehicle could be charged involving different protocols and connector types. At EMSB we offer solutions for both commercial vehicles & regular passenger EV.
Commercial EV Charging
In Malaysia, the majority of commercial EV are used for public transportation mainly involving buses. For Electric Buses there are 3 main ways these vehicles are charged:
- Single Overnight Charging at Depot
- Super Quick Charging via Pantograph
- Opportunity Charging
EMSB offers both AC & DC charging solutions for different that could be suited to customers requirements. These solutions complies with the relevant IS0 15118 standards and IEC requirements with CCS, CHAdeMO or Type 2 connectors.
Passenger Electric Vehicle Charging
For passenger electric vehicle charging, there is many different solutions available due to the differences in protocol adoption by vehicle manufacturers and regional standardization.
In Malaysia however, no one fix standards has yet to be adopted due to the early stages of electric vehicle introduction to the general public. Hence, EMSB offers wide variety of home charging solutions depending on the electric vehicle manufacturer requirements. EMSB offers —level one, level two, and level three charging units. Each type has different costs and charging capabilities from home to fleet charging considerations.
Level one: As a home or residential charging station, a level-one charger uses a dedicated 120-volt circuit. Typically ta driver can fully charge a car at home within 8 to 12 hours.
Level two: Most common type of commercial passenger EV charging station mainly for fleet charging. It features two ports running on 240-volt circuits and will take approximately 4 – 8 hours to charge an electric car.
Level three: Also known as direct current (DC) fast chargers, this industrial type stations uses 480-volt direct current to charge an electric car fully in 30 to 60 minutes.
